FIRE
Blog kinda dead cause there's school going on the stuff is harddddddd man.
It's only week 5 which makes it infinitely worse.
Plus I have been addicted to some tv shows and practicing my guitar so that's all my time gone.
Oh well. This will be really dead unless something really interesting happens.
Like my void deck catching on fire two nights ago. Hahaha. Let me tell the story.
It happened at around 10.20pm on Monday night.
Wasn't a big fire but it just took the scdf so long to extinguish it. It's took like 20 mins at least, I expected better... :( The fire extinguisher was not enough so they just kept spraying and spraying and spraying water from the hose.
The scariest part was the beginning when you wonder why the lights were flickering, then the shouts you were hearing from downstairs(which I thought were kids play-shouting) become louder and clearer. Then you make out the words "Fire! Fire!"
Fuck.
Worse was not knowing where the fire was, the worse case scenario was thought, that maybe it was your neighbour next-door or downstairs and the fire might spread to your house.
Thank god of all the things that can catch fire, it wasn't a unit burning, but paint cans outside the electric room at the void deck.
On the bad side:
-The newly painted building(the workers actually just painted it that afternoon) has to be repainted again.
-The electric room was burnt and the blackout lasted 9 hours that night.
-The foul chemical smell at the void deck is not going away, damn it man, it has been 2 days.
-No gas for today I couldn't toast my bread :(
-Poor 2nd floor unit above the fire probably has all its floor tiles popped.
I was lucky in the sense that I overnighted at my sister's place after the blackout. (Oh god her sweet sweet ceiling fan.) When they let us go up to our house, I just stepped in to find a torchlight and I got drenched in sweat. Seriously I really didn't think anyone could sleep that night, the heat was ridiculous.
On the bright side:
-The police came pretty quickly. They came way before the scdf.
-Some residents were really helpful. I heard a whole lot of them carried a wheelchair bound person down from the tenth floor.
-Those that were downstairs screamed directions to those still upstairs to steer them away from the affected stairwell. Someone actually had a laser pointer (Damn Son you're well prepared)
-Someone brought a fire extinguisher from their house. But in the end it wasn't used, it wouldn't be enough to extinguish the fire anyway...
-The police went to the units above quickly and started calling the people still inside to come out.
-Singapore Power came maybe an hour after the fire and started repairs for our electricity.
-Electricity came back just 9 hours after, I expected a whole day without electricity. (So fast man)
-The next evening the exterior of the building was pure white again.
-The floor was repaired quickly too, a cement truck came.
-Notice for a check of the gas pipes was immediately issued.
Luckily no one got hurt!
My block needs to stop being in the papers for the wrong reason man...
First was the burglary in my house 2 years ago. Like how suay is that, I still cannot get over how much angpow money I lost thanks to that asshole.
Then now this fire. Someone is gonna get in trouble over this. Probably the painting contractor. How did the fire even start in the first place...
Still, very happy everything is back to normal!!!
So so so thankful for electricity. I mean which geniuses even found out how to create and harness and distribute electricity over countries and now so many things in the house is equipped with a power plug. Amazing really.
Steamboat and desserts!
Steamboat with the OG on renri!!! Awesome hanging out with them again at Shuting's house! Had to travel from school allllllllllllll the way to the east with Oli though, took us 1h20min ahhhhh.
Most disgusting and messy yusheng I've ever had. Most of it were tossed onto the table....
Hehe all the usual ones turned up!!!
Went to Hoshino Coffee last Tuesday with the S08 girls for lunner! The pancake was awesome. Everything was so overpriced but still had a good time finally meeting up with the girls!!! It has been so long since we all gathered together!
Skipped stats just for this outing. WORTH IT. Actually skipping stats for anything is worth it hahaha.

CNY
Had a lot of fun during CNY. This year's one is a little more special because 2nd sis and Kaylee are celebrating with us in SG!
Done my own nails for CNY! So bothersome to stick it perfectly plus I'm a perfectionist. But my left hand turned out pretty damn nice :) Right hand wasn't bad too :))
Didn't really take any pictures during this year's CNY. Don't need any pictures to retain memories though :)
As usual had some steamboat and yusheng on the 31st of Jan, eve! Ahma's dementia was pretty bad, could see the difference, last year's CNY she prepared everything and took over the kitchen and instructed everyone; this year she just sits on the sofa staring at people...
Luckily Dayi's family came a little earlier this year and helped prepare all the wuxiang and herhpio and steamboat stuff and basically most of the cooking these few days. This years steamboat was really really good, the scallops were so GIGANTIC, it's like the diameter of a pool ball!
Kaylee learnt the art of tossing yusheng haha so cute her mini rotund hand.
Went to por por house on the first day early in the morning, so good to have YF drive us!!! Didn't even see half the usual relatives before we had to go.
And mahjong. Look at my tiles on drawing-.- Luckily this round stalemate nobody won!!!
Some cousins!
Bainian at Yunwei's house on the second day with the stupefy girls. So good to see them again, too bad I couldn't stay long. Had this really nice yusheng at her place with lemon or some secret ingredient idk so nice! Her father also baked this potato cheese thing for our dinner which was so tasty!!!
3rd day. Went to Hokey Pokey with Kaylee and the sisters and CS. Its a children playground place at Millenia Walk, so many angmohs there, and like only one other chinese family hahaha. Just walked around, shop shop, lim kopi, then went back to the gathering. Ahgu cooked prawn noodles with was awesomeeeee. DAT SOUP STOCK.
No more gathering on the fourth day :( Kaylee had school though so the sisters planned an outing. Generation gap and morning timing making it so difficult to find an activity. Went to Marina Sq's Kbox in the end. So freaking expensive?! At least there's food... can't sing the usual hip songs because my sisters are so OLD. Surprisingly, they don't even know that many english old songs... and TF can't sing... the little tone deafness still understandable. But I just don't understand, if you can project your voice while you talk, why can't you do the same while singing?????? Because throughout the whole session, I only heard whispers from her??? My brain not wrapping around this fact?
After we were done, we saw the Mediacorp Alvin filming which was pretty cool. Looks really uncomfortable though, mic taped on the inside of their shirt, a crowd forming to kaypoh/stare/fanclub, 3 gigantic dadeng boards closely surrounding their faces. Like seriously, I think their eyesight will deteriorate pretty quickly.
Later while shopping around, we saw xiaxue too! Like her hair so pretty! But she's not that pretty in real life...
Got some Coldstone and sushi express yusheng just for our family.

OH YEAH
Mum found my DS after like.... 7 years. Because she hid it and then forgot about it. Thanks much?!?!
But it still works so... Pokemon Diamond and Animal Crossing :D
And so much mahjong!!! Still can't exactly get all the hu and tai rules... And yusheng. And more mahjong. And yusheng.
So sad CNY family gatherings all over :( Why can't the chinese calender be like 6 months long? Then CNY will be biannual.
I totally can't end this post smoothly soooooooo (thanks to not posting actively)

Studying and a Party!
Went to study on Wednesday with the NEers! Had some Artease then went to eat this pretty good claypot thingy right beside Artease! Haha didn't study for that long 4h only but WE TRIED :)
And a horrifying discovery on Friday.
Also went for Kaylee's birthday party on Sat!!! Haha the Quartz function room quite nice! Got to see the cousins and the relatives finally!!!! Can't wait for CNY and play games & mahjong together again!!! 12 more days XD

CNY
